Mike Smith stepped away from writing several years ago to care for aging family members, but returned to poetry last summer. He’s published seven books of poetry, literary translation, and creative nonfiction, the latest in 2018. This summer, he received an Artist Fellowship from the Mississippi Arts Commission for the promise of new work.
